Brief Itinerary


Day 1

Meet on arrival at Mulu airport and transfer to your choice of accommodation. In the afternoon we will register at Mulu Park HQ and then take the 3 km plankwalk to Stone Horse Cave. Stone Horse cave is one of the many adventure caves which is easily accessible. It will take us approximately 1 hour to explore the cave. Return to our accommodation.

Day 2

Take a boat ride on the Melinau River to Lagang or Simon Caves. We will take a short jungle trek to the caves’ entrance. Both caves are close to each other and we will explore either one of these caves. It will take us approximately 3-4 hours to explore the cave and return to the boat. Take the boat back to our accommodation. (L)

Day 3

Take a boat ride in the morning to Caves of the Wind. Today will explore the 8km connecting passage from Caves of the Wind to Clearwater cave. The passage will take us through wet and dry passages. We will exit at Clearwater cave after approximately 6-7 hours of caving experience. Take the boat back to our accommodation. (L)

Day 4

We will start our trek from Mulu Park HQ to the entrance of Sarawak Chamber, The Good Luck Cave. The jungle trek will take us approximately 2 hours. Sarawak Chamber has the largest underground chamber in the world. We will wade through a stream that will lead us to the chamber. Return to the entrance and trek back to the Park HQ. Transfer to our accommodation. (L)

Day 5

Transfer to Mulu airport for flight out.

Meet at Mulu airport and take a boat in the morning traveling upstream to Long Litut. We will trek through lowland forest for 8.8 km to Camp 5. Dinner and overnight at Camp 5. (L/D)

After breakfast, we will ascend Mt. Api to an elevation of 1200m to view the Pinnacles. Packed lunch at the viewpoint before we descend to camp 5 for dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)

Day 3

After breakfast, we will trek back to Long Litut and take the boat transfer to the airport. (B/L)

Day One

Meet on arrival at Mulu airport and transfer to Mulu Park Headquarters. After registration, take the 3 km plankwalk to explore awesome Lang Cave and Deer Cave which runs through the entire mountain. Watch the magnificent bats’ fly out of the caves at dusk in droves. And return to the Park headquarters. (Lunch inclusive)

Day Two  

After breakfast, take a longboat cruise along the Melinau River to explore Wind Cave and Clearwater Cave, the longest known cave in South East Asia at a length of 51.5 km. Swim and have a picnic lunch near Clearwater Cave. Afterwards, transfer to Mulu airport. (Breakfast and Lunch inclusive)

DAY 01- KUCHING / BATANG AI

Depart for Batang Ai. The journey takes about 4½ hours. Along the way, passes fields which may be green or gold with sheaves of paddy (rice) or being left to fallow, pepper plantations and roadside kampung. Stop to visit the Liew farm which grows much of their own needs and for income. The main attraction is their pepper vines and loofah vegetables. Stop for lunch at the tiny little town of Lachau before continuing your journey. On arrival at the Batang Ai Dam, you will be ferried across to Aiman Batang Ai Longhouse Resort. Leisure to explore your surroundings. Overnight at the resort. (Lunch only)

DAY 02- BATANG AI IBAN LONGHOUSE

After breakfast, depart by native longboats for one of the rivers that feed into the Batang Ai Lake. Along this river live the famous Ibans who were once the most fearsome pirates and headhunters. Today they live harmoniously as farmers, fishing and hunting in the surrounding jungles. The highlight of the tour is the traditional welcome with maidens in ceremonial regalia and the Ngajat dance. Tuak, the local rice wine is served and you will have a chance to try your hand at handling the blowpipe. For those who are into game, there will also be a cockfighting demonstration. Then take a boat ride to enjoy a picnic lunch on the riverbanks. Join the Iban in cooking a traditional lunch using bamboo and BBQ over stone pits. Learn what kind of bamboo to collect and how to prepare the food for cooking in the bamboo containers. Prepare the stone pits and meat for grilling. Later return to the resort for the day. DAY 03- BATANG AI / KUCHING / DEPARTURE

After breakfast, return to Kuching city with lunch en-route. On arrival, drop off at your city hotel. (Breakfast & Lunch)

DAY 01-KUCHING / KUBAH NATIONAL PARK

Transfer from your hotel to Kubah National Park which takes about 45 minutes. The park is located about 20 kilometres from Kuching and one of Sarawak’s most accessible national parks. It was gazetted in 1989 and only opened to the public in 1995. The Park is dominated by a sandstone plateau which includes three mountains Mount Serapi, Mount Selang and Mount Sendok. At the height of between 150-450 metres, this plateau is punctuated with bands of hardened limestone which have created a number of beautiful waterfalls.Nepenthes ampullaria – the carnivorous pitcher plants borne at the tips of the leaves on tendrils, are shaped like tubes, tubs, or drums, and capture various small invertebrates.

The Park consists largely of undisturbed natural forest with five main vegetation types:- alluvial forest, lowland mixed dipterocarp forest, kerangas (heath) forest, submontane forest and secondary forest. Its rich forest, proximity to the mangrove forests and its terrain all ensure that Kubah is home to a variety of wildlife, including bearded pigs, black hornbills, mousedeer, squirrels and numerous species of amphibians and reptiles. It is also rich in palms and orchids. These include several species of Licuala, Rattans, Pantu, Pinanga, Appendicula, Dipodium and Eria. Lunch and dinner at the Park Canteen. Accommodation is at the Park Guesthouse, with basic amenities and facilities (no hot water shower). Meals: Lunch and dinner only.

DAY 02 KUBAH NATIONAL PARK / HOTEL

An overnight stay at the Park affords visitors more time to explore and enjoy the wonders of this diverse area. Spend the morning exploring more of the park. Lunch at the Park Canteen before returning to the city. Meals: Breakfast and lunch only

DAY 01-KUCHING/LEMANAK IBAN LONGHOUSE

Depart your hotel to the Lemanak River takes about 4 hours, passing padi fields, pepper plantations, farms, roadside kampungs and tropical jungles. Stop at the small town of Serian and later for lunch at Lachau. At the jetty, board a native boat for the upriver journey to an Iban Longhouse. On arrival, settle in at the Longhouse while your guide prepares dinner. After a simple dinner, join the rest of the longhouse folks and enjoy an evening of music and dance with rounds of tuak, their home made rice wine.

When the evening winds down, guests can present their gifts to the Iban, small tokens which will be shared equally amongst all those present. We recommend pens, pencils, children’s reading/ colouring/ drawing/ exercise books, cookies, candy, even canned food – inexpensive things, but well liked and appreciated.Stay overnight at the River Lodge. Arrangements can be made to stay with an Iban Family. A note of caution however, dogs are part of the family and you may find yourself sleeping near one. There are only basic facilities with no hot water for showers at the longhouse. Meals: Lunch & Dinner only.

Day 02-LEMANAK LONGHOUSE/KUCHING

Breakfast at the Guesthouse. Take part in a blowpipe and cockfight demonstration before proceeding for a nature walk to visit native farms and an Iban burial ground. Later return to the river jetty for your journey back to the city. Lunch at local cafe. Continue on to the city. Drop off at your city hotel. Meals: Breakfast & Lunch only.

DAY 01 – HOTEL / BAKO NATIONAL PARK

Depart in the morning for Bako National Park. A half hour ride takes you to the fishing village of Bako to board a boat for the Park headquarters.Bako is the oldest gazetted national park in Sarawak. It offers the perfect introduction to Sarawak flora and fauna. The 16 square kilometres of primary forests is home to seven distinct ecosystems; beach vegetation, cliff vegetation, mangrove, peat swamp forests, mixed dipterocarp forest, heath forest and grasslands.Constant erosion over millions of years has turned the Bako coastline into a unique geographical landmark. Cliff faces, sandstone structures, sea stacks and pristine sandy beaches dot the area. Wildlife thriving in the area include the rather intrusive long tailed macaques which roam all over and their shier cousins, the silver leaf monkeys and the long-nosed, pot bellied proboscis monkey.

Other denizens include flying lemur, mouse deer, bearded pigs, bats, tarsiers, slow loris and palm civet cats. Please note that these animals are wild and therefore, there is no guarantee that visitors will see them. There are 16 trails, each offering close-up look at different aspects of the Park. Discuss with your guide, what your interests are, to get the most out of your time at the Bako National Park. A night walk allows Visitors to take a closer look at the night denizens of the Park, the flying lemur, bats, tarsiers, slow loris and palm civet cats. Again, there is no guarantee that you will see them as wild nature does not perform on queue.Lunch and dinner at the Park canteen provided.

DAY 02 – BAKO NATIONAL PARK / HOTEL

If you missed seeing the proboscis monkeys the evening before, take an early morning trek to see the proboscis monkeys as they start their day, feeding on the river banks. Spend the morning exploring more of the Park. Lunch at the Park canteen before returning to the city. Meals: Breakfast & lunch only.

Brief Itinerary


Serikin is a tiny little village near the border of Sarawak with the Indonesia. It is takes about 1 ½ hours drive from Kuching City. During the weekends traders from across the border and nearby areas come to offer their wares and produce. They hawk authentic Indonesia sarongs, household items and food ranging from farm produce such as vegetables and fruits to seafood and meats.

Along the way are also makeshift roadside markets selling anything from antiques to wild ornamental plants, exotic orchids to equally exotic fruits, local kueh to all types of pulut and fragrant locally grown rice sometimes recently harvested. On the way back to Kuching, stop at Sarawak Pottery Factory to buy souvenir and gift.
